Essay About Myself as a Writer - 1282 Words
I have learned a lot about myself in the last twelve weeks. I discovered so much about my writing. I learned who I really am once I came out from behind the Official Style that Ive clung to since junior high. I have to tell you, it was very difficult for me to let go. I felt lost and uncertain. But in the process I found myself, my style, and my voice. I learned to let myself come through in my writing. I have to admit, writing became a lot more fun and interesting. When I looked back and read my first paper for this class, I laughed. I couldnt believe how trapped in the O.S. I was. I remember thinking as I wrote it that I was getting away from theme writing, but the only reasons I thought this were because I used the first person,â⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦It was only at the end of this quarter that I began to feel at ease writing in these other styles. I finally felt comfortable enough to challenge what had been taught to me as the law of writing. I wanted to do something different, to explore other styles and voices. I wanted to show Ms. Molitor that she doesnt know everything, that I dont have to write in the Official Style to be effective. Sometimes things are better when theyre written differently. Well, that holds true if what I learned was how well I could do on a test if I didnt read the text or studied while watching Days of Our Lives (by the way, Im really getting sick of that Lady in White, arent you?). But I was sucking up, I know that. I wasnt going to say that some classes are a waste of time and money, and that the only reason Im taking them is because I have to. That wouldnt have sounded very good because thats the reason I took this class. Truthfully, though, this is one class I actually got something out of (for real, Im not sucking up here). Im still learning things about my writing, and Im having aShow MoreRelatedEssay About Myself as a Writer1282 Words à |à 6 PagesI donââ¬â¢t consider myself a very good writer. I write when I am made to or when I have something that I need to say that I canââ¬â¢t just tell someone. I keep a diary. Usually my diary is just a record of what I have done that day. Itââ¬â¢s not so much about my feelings. I donââ¬â¢t really like talking about my feelings, usually because most of the time I am confused about what exactly I am feeling. I tend to keep the feelings that I do have to myself, to protect myself from getting hurt. nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;IRead MoreMy English 101 Experience844 Words à |à 4 Pagesabilities as a writer. When I first entered college, the only knowledge when it comes to writing was the basic of gathering a bunch of information on a piece of paper.
